Critical Thinking

On the Bill O'reilly show on March 25, 2013 Juan Williams said that when the professor of a university class instructed students to write Jesus' name on a sheet of paper and then put it on the floor and stomp on it "inspired critical thinking."

I think that to inspire critical thinking you first have to have all the facts.  If a person is contemplating jumping off of a 100 foot cliff to see what happens, shouldn't he first know about the law of gravity?  If he doesn't, he will be found dashed against the rocks.

I would bet that the professor didn't first explain the following facts to the students before giving them their assignment.

Hebrews 10:29, "How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?"

And Isaiah 66:6, "Hear that uproar from the city, hear that noise from the temple!  It is the sound of the LORD repaying his enemies all they deserve."

Now is the time for critical thinking.  Jesus said in Mark 3:28, "I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them."

It's not too late for the professor and the students to repent of what they have done.  Jesus will forgive.  All they need to do is ask Jesus to forgive them of their sin and to give them eternal life, and He will do it.  Romans 10:13, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of he Lord will be saved."
